The second book in this Adult Fantasy allowed the reader more insight into this interesting World. We have been given more information regarding the political aspects of this supernatural society. We have experienced more varied supernatural species as well (like Elephant and Great White Shifters), and have seen the Heroine continue to deal with her issues on having become part of this supernatural world.I would have liked a little more plot development and a little less angst. Yes, we understand that the Heroine has understandable psychological issues because of her background, combined with being thrust into being a Werewolf/Siren--but she sometimes handles those issues by being unnecessarily cruel and rude to her lovers, friends, and work associates. Time to stop whining and pouting, maybe? The books could also use a bit more editing and proofreading.
But it's a good series for me so far, and I plan on continuing.

Great read. Sera learns more about her powers in this book and becomes Alpha. Interesting new characters introduced in this book.

So good! So good! So good!!! I adored this book. I was cheering our heroine along and growling at the characters upsetting her. I loved it! I couldn't put it down and I will definitely be reading it again and again and again. I highly recommend this book and he first in the series. I can't wait for more!
Not as good a book as the first. The first half consisted of a lot of crying and moaning. The character of Sera seemed lost in a little girl. The second half returned to the character we saw in the first book strong and determined. A new case remained a footnote to the emotional ride taken by the main character. The resolution to the murder was simplistic and illogical. Will have to see if followup books improve the situation.
I've read many paranormal crime books. You write them flawlessly and well for the amount of balancing these books cause you to do. I love/hate Vlad. But I love almost all of you other characters with everything I have. Thank you for bringing many hours of laughing and crying into my life for writing this series I've already read all of them twice. I bought seven and am Anxiously awaiting the next instalment
Allure of the Wolf by Erin Flynn is the second in the Seraphine Thomas novels.
Sera, now just barely with a grasp on her abilities as a wolf and as a siren, is still fighting for her team as part of the FBI's paranormal division MNSTR. She's also got to deal with the mess the werewolves are in, not to mention learning paranormal politics really fast. All this while balancing new relationships with her team, her friends, and her men.
Side note Sera, as a siren, has sex with multiple partners. If that offends you, don't pick up this book.
Sera is a strong character, and she's really been thrown into the deep end while trying to learn to swim. She does a good job, and has a strong sense of right and wrong. Doesn't mean she doesn't mess up sometimes. But she does her best. And she's navigating hearts as well as minds, and that makes it tricky.
